Solutions:

Ans.1(4) Diagonal = D = 40×√2 = 56.56 m
Ans.2(4) According to the question
16 × 22 × 8 = 22/7 × 12/2 × 12/2 × L
L = 24.88 icmh
Ans.3(1) Perimeter of recangle = 140 cm.
2(9x+ 5x) = 140
x = 5
l = 45, b = 25
Area of rectangle = 45×25 = 112
Area of square = 2494 – 1125 = 1396
a2 = 1369
a = 37
perimeter of square = 37× 4 = 148 cm.
Ans.4(4) Ans.5(4) Ans.6(4) Let Rohit’s present age = x years
His daughter’s present age = x/3 year
His mother’s present age = 13x/9 years
According to questions-
x+ x/3 +13x/9 = 100
25x/9 = 36 years
So, required difference = Ans.7(5) Present age of Vivek = 5/13 × [ ( 74 – 8 ) – 14 ]
= 5/13 × 52 = 20 years
Present age of Vivek’s father = 20 + 22 = 42 year
Ans.8(4) Let the age of older man = (x+8) years
Age of younger man = x years
According to question-
(x+8) -12 = 2(x-12)
x = 24 –
x = 20 years
Sum of their ages = (x)+(x+8) = 20+28 =
48 years
Ans.9(2) Let the age of Guddu, Maqbool and Varnit are a,b and C years respectively.
According to question-
b – a = a-c
2a = b+c
a = b+c/2
a = 82/2 = 41 years
So, age of Guddu = 41 years
Ans.10(4) Let the son’s age 10 years ago = x years
Man’s age 10 years ago = 3x years
ATQ –
(3x+10)+10 = 2(x+10+10)
3x +20 = 2x + 40
x = 20 year
Sum of their present ages = (x+10)+(3x+10)
= 30+70 = 100 year
