Ans.1(1) Time taken by boat A in downstream
= 625/48=13.02 hr.
Time taken by boat E in downstream
= 550/24=22.91
Total time taken by (A+E)=35.93
Time taken by boat D in upstream=450/10 = 45
reqiured %= 45-35.93/45 × 100 = 20.15% 35%
Ans.2(4) Speed of boat G =30×120/100 =36 km/hr.
Speed of stream for boat G = 10×150/100 =15 km/hr.
Time taken by boat G in upstream
=1750/36-15= 1750/21 = 83.33 hour
Time taken by boat C in upstream
= 1750/16 hour
=109.375 hour
required difference= 109.37-83.33 = 26.04 hour
Ans.3(2) New distance= 2500×60/100 = 1500 km
Time taken by boat E to cover new distance (upstream)

= 1500×22%/8

= 330/8hours
time taken by boat A to cover old distance in downstream required ratio = 330/8×48/625 = 330×6/625 = 396:125
Ans.4(4) time taken by boat A in upstream =625/18 =34.72 hour
time taken by boat B in upstream = 375/15 = 25 hour
time taken by boat C in upstream =500/16 = 31.25 hour
time taken by boat D in upstream = 450/10 = 45
time taken by boat E in upstream = 550/8 = 68.75 hour average time

taken by all boat in upstream time taken by boat C = 1256 /44 = 28.5429 hour
required difference = 41 hour-29 hour =12 hour
Ans.5(5) Time taken by abhinav(using boat B)
= 350/ ( 25 + 10 ) 350/35 = 10 hour
Time taken by Abhay (using D+E)
= 240/36 + 110/24
= 11.25 hour (approx)
required time = 11.25 hour- 10 hour =1.25 hour
