**Q.10 Two trains start simultaneously from two stations Kanpur and Varanasi, respectively towards each other on the same track. The distance between the two stations is 720 Km and the speed of the trains are 50 Km/hr and 30 Km/hr. Simultaneously with the trains, a bird sitting on the top of the train starts towards the other and reverses its direction on reaching the other train and so on. If the speed of Bird is 60 Km/hr then the distance that the Bird travels before being crushed between the train is-**

**Ans.1(4) **Side of a square = **√**1764 = 42

c.m = radius of a circle

Area of circle = 22/7 × 42 × 42 = 5544 sq. c.m

**Ans.2(5)**L.C.M of 48, 40 and 60 seconds = 240 seconds = 4 minutes

**Ans.3(4)** Let base = b cm. Height = h c.m.

b + h + 28 = 60

b + h = 32

(b+h)^{2} = (32)^{2}……….(I)

Also,b^{2} + h^{2}= 28^{2}

2bh = 60×4

bh = 120

½ bh = 60

Area = 60 c.m.2

**Ans.4(5) ** The area of rectangular room = 12852/68 Sq.ft

The side of the square room = √841 = 29 ft

length = 29-8 = 21 ft

breadth = 189/21= 9 ft .

**Ans.5(4)** Area of lawn = 18×12=216 m2

Total area (lawn + path)= (18+3)×(12+3)

= 21× 15

= 315 m2

area of path (only) = 315 – 216 = 99 m2

length of second train= (x+150) meter.

Relative speed = y+90

2×+150/Y+90=30

2x+150=30×(y+90)×(5/18)…..(i)

Relative speed in same direction=(y-90)

2×+150/y-90

=2×60

2x+150=30×(y-90)×(5/18)×120…..(ii)

from (i) and (ii)

y+90=4y=360

y=150 Km/hr

**Ans.8(1)** Time taken by Ram to complete one round=(600/20)=30 second

Time taken by Laxman=(600/30)=20 second

time taken by Geeta=(600/50)=12 second

they will meet again = L.C.M. (12,20,30) = 60 second

**Ans.9(2)** Speed of first train=3/5×(108×5/18) =18 m/s

Length of first train=18×24=432 metre

Let length of bridge =x metre

(432+x)=18×48=864 metre

x=432 metre

length of train + length of Bridge=432+432=864 metre

**Ans.10(2)** Both train are same track, so it will collide.

Time taken by trains to collide = 720/80= 9 hours

Distance traveled by Bird = 9×60=640 Km
